Robert J. Harris was born, raised and educated in Washington and Oregon. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1982. In 1986 he earned his law degree at Northwestern School of Law in Portland where he graduated cum laude. He is a member of the Oregon and Washington State Bars, and admitted to practice in the Federal Courts in Oregon and Washington.
While Mr. Harris has handled many consumer bankruptcies he also brings experiences in bankruptcy and debt management issues related to business debts, and real estate matters. He has assisted clients with reorganizations and debt relief and restructuring for their small businesses and sole proprietorships. He has extensive litigation experience.
His litigation experience includes ten years as Hillsboro Municipal Court Judge and various hearings officer positions for government agencies including METRO, Clackamas County, and Multnomah County.
Mr. Harris is very involved in his community. Current and former activities include; Chairman of the Hillsboro Library Board. His past community, Director of Head Start, Director of Washington County Bar Association, Commissioner Washington County Commission on Children and Families, Hillsboro School Bond advisory committee, Hillsboro Library Foundation Director and Member of the Juvenile Crime Committee for Washington County.
